While waiting for our order at a local restaurant, we witnessed a moment that reminded us of the true power of kindness.
A young man walked in, visibly in need—his appearance was unkempt, and he seemed a bit disoriented, yet his need for food was clear. Approaching the counter, he placed his order, but the total was more than the $5.00 he had. Disheartened, he turned to leave, accepting that he couldn’t afford a meal that day.
Without hesitation, my husband stepped in, covering the remainder of the cost. But he didn’t stop there—he handed the young man additional cash, ensuring he had something more for later.
The young man quietly accepted the gesture, sitting in silence as he waited for his food. No words were needed—the gratitude in his posture said everything.

Without hesitation, the volunteer removed his own jacket and handed it to the young man. There was no second-guessing, no questions—just an instinctive act of generosity.
We all stood in awe as the young man, visibly touched, struggled to find the right words. With gratitude shining in his eyes, he simply said, "Thank you," and walked away—warmer, not just from the jacket but from the kindness that had just embraced him.
